Zeiss vs Minox ?

Been looking at the 3-9x40 Zeiss Conquest and the 2-10x40 Minox ZA5. To my understanding they both use the same glass? Both of these are close enough in power range for me to not be bothered by either of them...I would choose either one on this factor...but what pros vs cons do these two have compared to each other...or are they so close it wouldnt matter which one i purchase?

I have no experience with the ZA5 scopes . I did buy a minox Z3 3-9x40 scope . the glass was good , the size was good , but the turrets had lash . what I mean is after making an adjustment in one direction when I turned the opposite direction the second click was very soft or loose feeling . it did this every time on both turrets . this might never hurt a thing, but I just didn't like that . I returned the scope and bought a 3-9x40 conquest . I have a couple of these and they are a very nice scope . I'm not sure if the sale is still going on at Cabelas ,about two weeks ago they had these for $299 which I think is a great price for them . hope this helps Jim

In general, I think image quality is way less important than reliability and repeatability. If the image is crystal clear, but the scope won't hold zero or adjust as you need it to, then the scope is worthless except as a viewing instrument.
