Zeiss terra 4-12x42 what's your experience

Hi there, I have a extra rifle in the safe with no scope and think about purchasing one. The rifle I will be installing is a older Sako A7 300 win mag, with a ported barrel. I'm really looking for a cheap scope that will hold a zero. That's why I was thinking about the Zeiss Terra 4-12x42, in Dave Talley rings. This is a backup of a backup rifle so really don't want to spend more than $350. Rifle might see the range once every 2 years. My first rifle is a Gap non typical in 300 win mag with a Nightforce 5.5-22x56 Moa. My backup is a Nosler Patriot in 6.5x284 with a Leupold 4-14x40 Boon & crooket. I'm very familiar with the old saying buy once cry once. I also thought about a weaver or vortex viper scope. The real question is should I just save some more money up and not buy a scope right away. Any imput would help. Thank you
Jason
