Your thoughts on Alliant Power Pistol powder.......................................

We had our first trade day of the year at the club today and I was able to grab two sealed 1 lb'ers of Power Pistol for $40.00 OTD. I'll probably use it for 9mm after my #5 is all gone. Your comments are most welcome.

Good powder. I use a little faster powder in 9MM and save the Power Pistol for 357 Sig and 40 S&W

BE-86 is a good substitute for Power Pistol if you want to avoid the flash.

Most accurate powder in 9mm that I have tried in my Chambers PPC auto.

As noted above, loud and flashy.

10 shots at 50 yards from a Ransom Rest.

Works great and can be used in a variety of cartridges. Especially good for +P loadings.

Its a good accurate powder, it will give you optimum power factor if this is what you seek, I used PP for quite several years over thousands of rounds mostly with 124 fmj and jhp. It is loud and flashy and has a little a bit more felt recoil (due to charge weight).

I fell out of love with it tho the day when I crossed paths with Sport Pistol.

I’ve used a lot of it in the past for .40 S&W. Back while shooting uspsa. I still have a fair amount of it, even though I haven’t loaded it for 10 years. It does have a big muzzle flash.

All the above considerations, and also useful for mid range cast bullets loads in 44M, 45C and 475 Linebaugh.

It will give you full power 9mm loads if you want.... I use it and win 231 but the 231 isn't useful for full house loads...
