You might want in on this...

Well I certainly hope that anyone that recieves Outdoor Life immediatley cancels their subscription. It's people like Zumbo and the folks that would print this crap that turn my stomach. I have more respect for the in your face anti gunners than back stabbing scum like Zumbo.

Don't just cancel your subscription. Never go to one of their sites again. Remember, each page view increases their ad revenue.

I tried to send an Email to Stoney point and it looks like the objections to Jim Zumbos stand on ARs has completely overloqded their system. I think that I will try a little later for the rest of the sponsers of his show. I would expect that that will be the case there also. I wonder what he will do when all of the anti gunner groups contact him about giving talks to further his thoughts? JimDee

Already mentioned in a different thread but Remington fired him

Hey, I disagree with your opinion. I think you should be banned from this forum or any other shooting forum...and no apologies will suffice. Now do you see the stupidity of alarmist reaction to a sports writer who voiced an opinion? Canceling subscriptions to Outdoor Life because one of their writers ran amok is nonsense. This type of "mob" reaction is in the same ilk that the "Brady bunch and gun banners" use to inflame opinion.

The guy apologized, the magazine apologized, and Remington disowned him. That's enough, get on with life.

Virg,

you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine, I earned it!

This should NOT just go away!

Remington and Outdoor Life DO have culpability, and they should share in that culpability!!

DUMBO should be "toast" forever, just like Howard, what was his name?

No, I don't see the "stupidity" in it, nor do I consider it an "alarmist reaction." Your attempt to try and draw a parallel between my uncompensated comments on a public forum and the compensated comments of a professional writer in his column fails in my opinion.

To begin with, to say that Outdoor Life shouldn't bear any responsibility is like saying the Washington Post and New York Times shouldn't bear any responsibility when one of their reporters goes out and starts fabricating the news as they seem wont to do. If Outdoor Life chooses to host writers and allow them to post what they like without editorial review, that's their choice and they should be responsible for that choice.

Had Jim Zumbo come to one of the forums that I frequent and made his comments there, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. In fact, I might even have gone to read his blog once or thrice just out of curiosity. Would I have screamed, ranted, or campaigned to have him thrown off the forum? No. However, he chose to do it in the blog that he gets paid to write. Different story, different expectations, and sometimes "Sorry" just don't cut it.

And, BTW, I have moved on with life. I find it very easy to do without Outdoor Life, the magazine and the website. I can only remember having been to that site a couple of times before this anyway. Pretty easy to avoid really as I never found much of interest there.

The guy gave live ammunition to the foremost anti-gun lobby in the US. No way do we just move on. We hold it against him, forever. -Rod-

YA right! this should go away, just like it will go away over on the Brady Campaign, I don't care that Zumbo made a mistake and looses his job, he sure didn't help us gun owner any, and I don't care who's friend he is . Over on GGVG board, and has now been deleted and how is that going to help us gun owners?). John Snow of O/L tryed to make excuses for his friend saying "Zumbo is the same wonderfully talented,good-natured person". So John Snow is just like Zumbo, and so is every one else that wants to let this die quick. Just remember the Brady Campaign will not let this DIE EVER.
