Yet again — Bullseye Pistol Shooting

I shot Bullseye (NRA Precision Pistol) for about 30+ years. It is a demanding sport but excellent for learning the basic fundamentals of pistol shooting.

The most rewarding part of the experience for me was the comradery I enjoyed with fellow team members after joining a pistol team and competing against other teams.

You may want to get a copy of the Army Pistol Marksmanship Manual. I found it the best publication for learning the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and guidance on training methods.

I shoot in bullseye pistol league at the local club every week with my High Standard Victor made in Hamden. Put a competition barrel on it. I’m a rifle guy but I really love Bullseye. Very challenging and a fun group of guys.

I also shot bullseye, about 25yrs of it….. Sold my gear and dedicated everything to NRA Highpower. I just got this trio from my uncle.

Nice of your uncle.

I shoot a Gold Cup, a Model 52, an old original Pardini HP, and a later model Pardini SP (shooting some combination of the four each weekend.) And air pistol when I really want to aggravate myself.

I had to stop because of an arthritic elbow, could not hold a pistol one handed anymore over the long course of fire, or I would still be doing it, albeit, with diminishing skills.

There is a club in SW Ohio that shoots a game which can be well played with a Bullseye type pistol. Fortuitously, I purchased such a pistol and have been playing since I discovered the game.

Daughter picked up a Colt with a 22 Kart conversion, we think Jim Clark did the work but his kid couldn’t verify the serial numbers. Either way it’s top notch work.

Where do you plan to shoot @bpd459 ? I know of three clubs in Western WA that shoot Bullseye. We may be shooting the same matches one of these days. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss off-line.

Rifle shooter here, but I plan to come over to the dark side of the force eventually. My goal is to start shooting EIC pistol and get that pistol badge to go along with my rifle.

I’m going with a Beretta 92X and had my gunsmith fit a KKM barrel to get me started. Added a set of Veloce grips too.

Revolver shooter here "forced" to take up rifles after the handguns were all banned. Best way to improve your rifle shooting is to so some pistol shooting. If your fundamentals aren't right it really shows. I do miss shooting the 1500 though, it was a great competition. Left handed at 50m is a good test ;)
