Yep…USPS Again

One of the guy's got a hold of me because a fellow shooter needed some
sail tails. and I try to keep some on hand from Johnny Mayo. I worked the
network, got an address and off to the post office I went......I'm in Erie Pa.
and these were going to Punxsutawny Pa. maybe 120 miles southeast of
me. I would expect them going just south of me to the hub near Pittsburgh
which they did, then a just a short hop over to Punxsutawny, but......

I recently sold a car to a fellow 132 miles away. I left a couple items in the car, he said he would send them to me. I’m NW of Orlando, he’s just north of Jacksonville. Two days later the package was in Colorado. It’s now one week later and I still don’t have the package. At least it’s back in my state as of this morning.

At least yours left the state (I know, it shouldn't have). We sent something USPS From GA to GA and it went in and out of the same regional facility 4 times to different local offices, back to the regional, and finally to its destination 4 weeks later... It was shipped Priority.

Spent 30 minutes in Fort Worth, and back in the network ??

Had a USPS package delivered in 3 days from ordering to delivery. Texas to Missouri.
So. Now my good fortune is probably used up for the next 12 months or so, based on my prior experience.

I sold a rifle to a fella in Kentucky, shipped it out USPS to his FFL on June 3rd,it went to Chicago, then Dallas, back to Chicago then To Evansville Indiana and he finally received it today...thank the lord it arrived in good condition.

I could show you one from USPS that I mailed to Todd Criswell on MAY 5th, today is June 12th, it is sitting in Indy for the 3rd time, Lexington 2 or 3 times, Louisville twice and Richmond, KY at least twice. I'm filing an insurance claim tomorrow.

On 4-24-2025, I sent a small USPS Flat Rate box from WA to MO. Tracked it through the system to Kansas City then to
Chillicothe, MO…….then it stopped.
The USPS “Expected Delivery Date” was4-28-2025. Every subsequent tracking inquiries ended in Chillicothe. Today’s inquiry
was “INFORMATION NOT AVAILABLE”. I initiated a claim via their internet and have yet to get any confirmation of the claim.

I suspect it's still in Kansas City, KS.
That distribution hub is a 'black hole'.

It will probably eventually emerge, but don't be surprised if it takes 6-8 weeks.

Based on personal experience.

The USPS is the cheapest common shipping option. And also the most unreliable.
