XP100 bolts

HI I have an older XP100 in 223 cal.I ran across a 308 bolt for sale today.I want to make it into a 6mmbr.What are my options here.Turn the 223 bolt,or by the 308 bolt,or does anyone make a new bolt for this action.Any insights would be helpful. Thanks for any info.R.Manuel

Grab the .308 bolt! Keep the .223 as a spare. That way you can make a switch barrel out of it and you won't have to mess with the bolt! JMHO. Mike.
And if you don't get the .308 bolt,let me know and I'll take it!

I think it would depend on the price of the 308 bolt.
You can open up your 223 bolt, and install a sako style extractor for about $125.00
But like Mike said you could keep them both and do a barrel change when you felt like it..

Preacher. My way of thinking is if you modify the .223 bolt you can't go back! Even if the $125.00 is a pretty good deal. With the "extra" .308 bolt you can have the best of both worlds!
Get 3 or 4 barrels like .221 Fireball, 22 Hornet, .222, .223 for the .223 bolt then for the .308 bolt get another batch like "6BR" , 22.250, .243, .308 and everything in between! One trued action with the caliber of your choice!
And for sure, get the bolts "Jewelled"! Sounds like the makings of a pretty sharp rig.

NorCalMikie On Ebay is where i found the XP100 bolt, I'm still biding on it.But i was just at the site again,someone has a 600 or XP100 bolt for sale with a Sako ext.,and a rifle bolt handle installed on it for $159.99 on the buy it now part.Go to Ebay then sporting goods,then look at hunting,then gun parts,then bolts.Hope this helps you out. The bolt could be bushed back up, but will run into a bit of $$ to do so.
