XP 100 VERSUS WHISTLE PIG

So I just recently finished this XP up. It is a 221 fireball and I was using Remington factory ammo with the 50 grain bullet. I haven't shot any groundhogs in a long time. Seems like the coyotes have thinned them out a lot from what they used to be. The shot was a little over 100 yards so nothing really special there. What made this so special to me was I had my youngest child with me. He is almost 5 years old and he was a great hunting partner on his first groundhog hunt. When I shot and he saw it was down he was so excited. He wanted to carry it and had to show it to his papa, my dad. Sure made for an awesome Father's day! It doesn't take a wall hanger or big money to make great memories with the children. They can have fun catching a bluegill or shooting a whistle pig and so can we! I have always loved to hunt, fish and shoot but I declare I have had more fun watching my younguns over the years than any other succeses I have had in the outdoors.

Thank You all for the kind words. I just wanted to share my good fortune. I hope everyone is able to have some and more of those same blessings!
God Bless,
Don

Set a 10/11 year old kid up at the bench with my XP at the range.
Grandpa said it was OK so I showed him how to site the EER scope.
BANG and the TING of hitting steel out to 100 + yards with a bolt pistol? PRICELESS!!
That was probably 20 years ago and my bet is, that kid still has a grin on his face.
Probably something pretty hard for a kid to forget. :D:D ;);)

You need a dedicated post on the XP too! Today’s kids could use more of that, get them off the games and into the outdoors whether fishing, hunting, exploring or whatever. Always made better with family. Love the post!

Great story
