X terminator powder

I’m using it for a 223 Wylde chambered 18” suppressed AR15 for night hunting hogs with thermal optics. I’m using 62 grain Sierra Gamekings. I’m using 24.5 grains of X-Terminator and Accurate 2230 (same powder). MV is 2900ish. Brass is NATO cycling’s. I use a brass catcher. The best groups are right at 1MOA but this is more than acceptable for my use because after the first head shot, they’re all running crazy and it’s kinda like a bird shoot. The need for precision is lost in the run. Most shots are within 50 yards until they really get scattered and we’re just throwing lead at that point but we’ll pick up distance shots also.

I had a metric crap ton of it and used it for 223 55 gr and 62 grain plinker loads with great success.

Are you sure about that? Ramshot powders are made by Eurenco P B Clermont in Belgium and most Accurate ball powders by General Dynamics in St. Marks, Florida.

Those two different manufacturers are what Hodgdon Powder's SDS sheets show.

I did some VERY light googling on the matter as I’ve heard good things about Ramshot Xterminator in smaller calibers and want to try it but can’t seem to find any. It seems they’re made by different companies and are, indeed, different powders. But they perform so similarly that they may as well be the same and they use essentially the same load data.

Again, worth what you paid for it (zero pennies), but that’s what I found in my searching.

I knew they were manufactured in different locations and as basher42 said, the Google search says they are like equal. I didn’t know this when I purchased them separately but found that in shooting them, I can’t find any difference at all. I could load a magazine with half and half and wouldn’t see any difference. I wish they were different because I’ve got two pounds of each and it’s going to last me a long time.

Here’s something I just found on an old post here from 2015.
Phil,
I have tested both powders and came up with identical (as close as can be expected) load data. Went to either Western Powders or Ramshot, forget which, and they had a FAQ section, a company rep from one of the above stated that they were made on the same manufacturing line, on the same equipment. The only difference was the packaging.

From Western Powders site,
"A2230 Data matches Ramshot X-Terminator

I’ve noticed on the updated data for the 7.62×39 (5.0.1) that the powder charges for Ramshot X-Terminator and Accurate 2230 are exactly the same, all entries are exactly the same. Is this correct data for these two powders?

In this case, it is correct. Ramshot X-Terminator and Accurate 2230 are the same powder used by both powder lines.

I think Western Powders (as was) may have swapped between the two manufacturers on occasions depending on product availability. I first noticed this with some of the company's load data tables that gave identical charges (to 0.1gn), MVs (to a single fps) and pressures (to 1 psi) for Ramshot Wild Boar (a Europe only powder) and Accurate-2520 for some cartridges.

People on this forum told me that they couldn't be the same thing as 2520 has 'Manufactured in the USA' on its label and I've since had confirmation that it is from St. Marks, and as with other Ramshots, I know that 'Wild Boar' is from Belgium. As with X-Terminator and 2230, their loads and performance are apparently very close nevertheless. We don't get 'Accurate' brand powders in my neck of the woods (UK), so I've not had the chance to compare them. Now that Hodgdon has bought Western and taken its brands over, that may change depending on whether these 'Accurate' ball types meet European environmental and H&S requirements. (Some Hodgdon brand 'spherical' powders from St. Marks do, but not the older products like B-LC(2) or H414.)

Whether Hodgdon will continue to source Ramshot grades from the Belgian outfit must be another question too, especially as Hodgdon and St. Marks have a close long-standing relationship. With things as they are right now with powder shortages here, there, and everywhere, I can't see Hodgdon turning away from any supplier in the short term though.
