X caliber barrels?

Anyone shooting an x caliber 20? Im about to put in for a 20 practical and Im back and forth on ss or steel/nitiride. How do you like the 3 groove? Does it clean up nice? Any info on these guys is appreciated good or bad. Thanks!

Have a couple of 20s on order but they haven't hit yet.
A Bud has wrung one out on an XC variant....NO copper. Just the smallest trace for first few shots. He also has a 6.5 x 47 and a Dasher. Same if not better. Shooting multiple 3 shot groups in low ones and zeroes with a tuner in less than optimal conditions.

We both are sold on the X-Caliber products. Gettem before they go up $$.

Ive got a X-Caliber 20 cal 3 groove barrel with 1 in 11" twist chambered in 20 TAC on my AR. They clean up very nicely. Did not even break it in and fired 30 rounds before first cleaning. Cleaned up as nicely on the first cleaning as any of my other custom barrels with break in procedures performed and many rounds down the barrel.

Initial 30 round testing and second 30 rounds of testing both produced 5 shot groups under 1/2 MOA.

I appreciate the feedback! Do they have long wait times? I called mcgowen and the waits are way to long which is why I decided to check out x caliber.

Give'm a call. They may have something in stock or close to running a batch of what you're wanting.

They are getting caught up now and wait times are down to about 4 weeks as opposed to the 8 week wait times when they were backed up with a ton of orders. May be less than 4 weeks if they have what you want in stock or partially completed.

I just got a 6.5 from them and the wait was a little long, but it shoots great and cleans up really nice. After initial break-in I haven't see a sign of copper.

I have seen several X-Caliber 20 cal barrels that will shoot with any barrel out there or better than most. 20 TAC 11 twist 3 Groove is shooting very well under 1/4 Moa if I do my part. My friends 20 Vartarg is awesome. He has killed groundhogs out to 455 yards no problem. Another friend has several rifles he built with X-caliber 20s. 20 BR short, 20 Vartarg Improved on a Terry Leonard redwood stock with Borden Rimrock BR action. He also has a 20 VT short he came up with. It shoots 10.5 grain of powder. They all shoot Bughole groups. X-Caliber makes a Fine Barrel!!!

We need a pic of the VT Short if possible. Sounds very interesting.
