X Caliber barrel service

I decided to give X Caliber barrels a try. I ordered one last Friday and it showed up today. 6 days order to door. If it shoots as good as good as their service is it'll be a keeper!

I have read numerous excellent reports of fine accuracy with their barrels. Keep us updated as to how it turns out.

I have one in 223 Rem for my Savage F-TR Midrange rifle coming. Will post when I have something to report.

From their testimonials looks like a great product especially at their price, hope they keep it that way for a while will be trying one :D

I'm currently setting up three rifles with their barrels.

I will post the results asap.

My builds: 308, 6.5x284, and a 6BRX

I've posted this in the last...I put together a vintage theme 40x this past year and went with a 12 twist 1.25" straight tube for a 22 BR. The barrel looks very good inside, machined very nice as well. I started off shooting lighter 52 SMK's and right off the bat I could not get anything working with 8208 and Varget. Had some H322 on had I had since 1995 ish and got some promising groups out of it. Switched to 60gr Berger Varmint bullets and it shoots them well. I had some nice groups at 300 and 500 yards with it. Overall, the barrel is decent...cleans up nice too.

Here is some of my early load testing targets...took me awhile to get something that consistently working...

I have 2 xcaliber barrels and they shoot good. 260 rem in mag sporter weight and #4 in .223. The main thing I notice is they collect minimal to no copper between cleanings and i get a clean patch in as few as 8 passes. Slicker than glass. The green sludge from my Hodgdon powders is all I push out. The .260 is a 9 twist and handles 130 excellent.

Chuck, that's a great looking rig! I wish I hadn't seen it. :) I've got a 40X wood stock that's not in use and a Unertl 30X. Just when I knew what I was building, now you've got me rethinking it....

That Unertl sounds pretty nice match!
