X-Caliber Barrel on my AR15. Great Results

It is my plan to start hunting varmints with 20 cal ARs...this is how my first varmint AR build is going so far. Thanks to a great X-Caliber barrel, things are going very good so far.

Just put a new X-Caliber SS 20" bull barrel chambered in 20 TAC on a SOTA Arms upper, Kaiser Defence Lower, and Rock River Match trigger.

Below are two of my best 5 shot groups at 100 yards so far. Damn wind always seems to be blowing, but it still shoots very well for an AR. Can't wait to lay waste to gopher towns next year :)

Pics of rifle and 2 groups below. Both groups shown with dime next to them for size reference. Speeds listed on target are suspect because my Chronograph was acting funny with direct sunlight overhead. Will test again on a cloudy day with infrared light kit.

Pic of my 20 TAC AR-15. Harrels 30 degree Tactical brake. Brass catcher is called "Brass S.H.A.R.K." Absolutely the best brass catcher on the market.

Nice looking gun!! Where can I get a brass catcher like that?

The only place I have ever seen them is ebay. I know most folks don't like ebay, but disagreements aside, it's worth buying this catcher from there. I have two of them.

They come with the fiberglass rod and 1" rings to mount to your forend picatinny rail, but I buy mt own "quick release" 1" scope rings so that I can attach and detach it from the rifle quickly. Much better that way. If you search for it on ebay, you must type in "." after each letter in the word shark. So it will look like this. "Brass S.H.A.R.K."

I have provided a link below as well. You will throw away all your other catchers after you use this one.

Great looking rifle! Where did you find your X-Caliber barrel? I'm in the market for a .223 Wylde varmint barrel finished at 24 inch.

Just call X-Caliber directly and ask for Robbie. He's their main sales guy there. 406-314-4565. Can also ask for Sherm if Robbie is not available.

My barrel is the 3 groove 1 in 11 twist. First time trying a 3 groove in 20 cal and I really like it. Cleans up a lot easier than 6 groove as well.

Steve I went to the site MY Accurate Barrel, I don't see anything about AR barrels , am I missing something?

I just checked "My Accurate Barrel" as well, I had never heard of them. Best bet may be to call him about AR barrels.

Where did you get your scope rings at? im looking for something like that for my AR but having trouple finding them.

Can't remember. I have so many sets of various rings in one of my drawers that I lost track. Probably got them on Amazon or something. Think they are 30mm high UTG rings.

I don't buy expensive rings anymore. I buy cheaper rings and lap them to perfection because in my experience with lapping a large amount of rings, none of them will give you anywhere near 75+% contact without lapping no matter how much money you spend. I rarely spend over $40 on any of my ring sets and after lapping (and bedding in some cases) I have never had a single issue with any of them in any way.

If you don't have a raised rail attachment for your flat top AR upper, just make sure you buy the tallest set available in the style you want so you have a comfortable and natural view from your check weld on the straight comb.
