WY success

Just got back from a week in WY. I was gunning for a nice muley, but was happy to kill this nice western whitetail that made a poor decision to cross my path on a wooded ridge.
I hiked a bit over 25 miles in 4 days. Over 10 mi and 1000 ft elevation change on my kill day (that’s a lot for us flat landers). Had to pack out two of the three deer shot. Great week.

Outstanding!!!

Funny part about the hunt is that as a rifle loony, I spent a lot of time dialing in the load, shooting numerous distances up to 400 yds (from field positions), and then shot this deer at about 20 yds. :p
- Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon Speed chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor
- Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x40
- Handload, Hornady 123 SST, 39.5 RL15

Funny.

Had a version of the same in Georgia. Using my 260 Ackley Improved, I practice and am ready to 600 yards. Then killed a nice doe at 60 yards.

Yeah, you could have used a thutty-thutty! But...if you took one you would have seen a 12 pointer at 250 yards. Better to be prepared.
