WTB: Single shot follower for Savage Model 25, 17 Hornet

I would like a single shot follower for a Model 25 Savage, 17 Hornet. Mine feeds poorly and I would like to load longer OAL than the detachable magazine will allow. I am not sure if anyone is making these or not. I am imagining these would be produced on a 3D printer, mimicking the detachable mag, but the top where the cartridge lays would be the tricky part.

Try laying the shell on top of your current follower
and see if it will load.
I once owned a CZ HMR and bought their version of
a SS follower. It didnt work worth a crap. After taking it out
I laid the loaded round on top of the magazine follower, not really expecting it to work, but it did w/o any hangups.

I designed and tested a single-shot follower for the model 25 in .223 that can be 3D printed. It worked well, and that was a good shooting rifle too. I suspect the hornet magazine is different? The model might have to be slimmed down a bit to fit. Anyways let me know if you're interested (it's an STL file), and we can figure out a way to get it to you. I can't attach it on the forum here as it's not an expected file type.

Well, just laying a cartridge on top of the mag doesn't feed. I emailed SSS and they replied that they don't have anything for a model 25. I don't have a 3D printer or even know anyone with one. I am hoping someone got a wild hair and made a few.

The fella at Bob Sled has had a stroke and not currently producing products. He hadn't done one for the Savage 25 in 17 Hornet.

Second one down may take some mods but it may be a good starting place?

I did take it out on our prairie dog shoot last week, it does feed poorly, but not as bad as I thought. Still a colossal pain. I did take a dremel style tool to the end of the mag to make room for a little longer OAL, so I could use/load it at least. It did quite well on a calm morning on a spot/stock hunt, didn't shoot it from the table. Felt like I was shooting a 17HMR, but the Hornet is almost 3650 fps...a little more damage it does do. Would still like a single shot follower.
