I missed one here a couple of months back that was what I needed and I believe to be in the serial number range of 1450-1930(my best guess). Not sure HOW I MISSED IT. I am looking for a specific range in serial numbers to fill a hole in my collection. It will have a pre-Randle stock and no Sweeny trigger.

Please PM me with what you have. It must not be altered.

Thanks in advance.

The Sweany "miracle trigger" was patented on 12/30/39. I have a 700's rifle that has it. If you ever fired the pre-miracle trigger and the miracle trigger you know why so many early rifles were sent back to Remington for a retrofit. I have no info on when it became standard fare, but sometime on or after 1940 I would think.

A lot were swapped out, yes. If it was indeed sent back to the factory, it would have 2 date codes on the barrel. If not, it wasn't done by Remington. I own, 12, 64, 517, 755 that are all original without the modification. my 2152 as the Sweeny trigger, as do all my "later" ones. I am after the last of the pre-Randle stocks. Again my best guess is 1450-to not quite 2000. There was one posted here a couple of months ago that I missed, still kicking myself. The OP doesn't remember who he sold it to. I would love to have it and would pay him a profit to cut it loose.

Good luck finding it. They are a wonderful target rifle. Every bit as good or better than the 52's until the C model with the new trigger came on the scene. I really like the cut out receiver of the 37 that makes loading with the left hand easy compared to the 52.

Eventually it will happen, thanks!
