Long or short? Brian.I am in desperate need of a firing pin for a push feed Winchester M70. Let me know if you have one. Thank you!
This was true up till 1981 when U.S. Repeating Arms bought out Winchester firearms and started making a shorter action for the short action cartridges like the .223, .243, .308, etc.Push feeds are all one length I believe. This one is a 243 featherweight.
It’s a 243, barrel is stamped SA. I actually think I only need the cocking piece on the end of the bolt if anyone has that? What is your bolt length and cal?
If its on safe, and you pull the trigger then take it off safe without letting go of trigger, any mauser action (and this is a mauser copy) will fireNot looking for the shroud, I replaced the safety lever and detent already. Someone has played with a file on this rifle and it will fire if put in the middle position, the trigger is pulled and the flip the safety to fire and it will fire. Trying to get this figured out so the gun can be useable again. Any help is appreciated, thank you
The trigger is live when the safety is in the middle position? If so, the firing pin needs to be adjusted by carefully filing the bottom angle (of the firing pin) where it meets the sear. That will shift the firing pin ever so slightly forward. Which gives the safety lever more contact with the firing pin. Don't alter anything other than the firing pin.Not looking for the shroud, I replaced the safety lever and detent already.
