What do you consider "reasonably priced" for an M1?Anyone here have good quality, reasonably priced Garands or M1 carbines. Heck I'm even interested in 1903 and 1903a3s. Hit me up with pics and prices. Thanks Gat
A lot of guys will absolutely not buy from the CMP.The Classifieds on CMP site has nearly daily offerings of very nice rifles for sale by participants. Many have CMP provenance as well. I have bought and sold through that site for decades. You are not far from Anniston South Store and TMP-Talladega Marksmanship Park. I would suggest you go check out TMP to put hands on some of the best available rifles.

Because that's the CMP making them look like trained and obedient Circus dogs "jumping through hoops" as they call it. They are willing to pay more on the open market not to. I never really worried about that, even back when it took more to buy from the CMP. I just did what needed to be done and got my CMP M1s.why?
Those that won't buy from the CMP are calling whatever you have to do to buy from the CMP "Circus Tricks/jumping through hoops", no matter what it is, simple, not simple, difficult. It's all "jumping through hoops" if they are doing something other than going to their local gunshop and handing over cash. No matter what you and I think about it, that's what they think about it.The process is as simple as it has ever been.
You won’t need to do any “circus tricks” to purchase from individuals on the CMP Classifieds.
I have been buying surplus rifles through DCM/CMP since the late 90s; it’s never been a hassle for me.
