WTB - Farley COMPACT Co-Ax rest

FYI the bag Sucks!
Thanks! Anyone make a better replacement bag? Can it possibly be worse than my Sinclair AP bag? Or is it time to be really, really nice to the wife? ;D

Any opinion on the Shadetree rest top?

I emailed Edgewood, and Barbara said their bags don't seem to fit the Shadetree top correctly. Just thought I would post that info here for anyone else who might be looking for a Shadetree. I also must add that I need a 2.5" bag for my Shehane Baby Tracker stock; the 2.25" bag sort of works, but is far from ideal.

Anyone got a 2.5" bag that will work? (Already emailed Protektor for a custom one, IF they'll make it.)

Tell Barbara that she really doesn't know what she is speaking. The Edgewood has a fake leather strip on front and rear. I take an old piece of brass and use it as a leather punch to cut the holes for the bag screws. Takes about 5 minutes.
Now you have a full size bag held 8 - 1/4" screws.

Sounds to me like she simply was not wanting to get involved, since the width of the Shehane stock at 2.5 inches would mean a special order. They had already made me a special bag for this stock a year or so ago, thinking it would fit a Sinclair AP gen II windage top, but it wasn't even close. But they stepped up and allowed the return, even though it was a special. So I can understand if she/them were reluctant to deal with me again. (I had asked them if they still had the bag, and if so, I would take it - But it was gone.)
The good news, is I LOVE THE SHADETREE! My Sinclair post was so sloppy in the riser that I mashed it oblong to try and get a snug fit. N/G. I added tape to the riser id, teflon tape to the shaft OD, and thick wheel bearing grease to try and stop the post from shaking. N/G. So I bought the used Shadetree top, and its shaft was perfect. So perfect that I had to spend 2 hours re-clearancing the riser just to get the shaft in!

I shoot a full power .308 for 100 yard score, and even though I was out of benchrest bullets, and had only a 2.25" bag, I still shot near a personal best, since I could concentrate on SHOOTING, and not fiddling with my rest. Once I get the right bag, and some BIB 155's, Look Out!

So, Thanks Butch, for a great product. But there is a little history between me and Edgewood, and I think they are just trying to gracefully decline my further business. I'm OK with that.

How is your health situation? I hope things are returning to normal for you.

I have one of Butch's Shade Tree rests and have a Edgewood bag on it. I second what Butch said - all I had to do was punch tow holes to allow the screws to go through (the ones that hold the bad to the rest) and the bag fits perefectly.

The combination is wonderful!!!!!
