Looking for my first Contender. Ideally a 14" chambered in a good Prairie Dog caliber. But I also would be interested in a nice deal on just about anything. I am located close to CR Iowa and would prefer to find something local but that's not absolutely necessary. For my first gun, I want to start with a complete gun and then get barrels later but I know I'll be looking for a 30 Carbine so I might as well list that wish too.

Well with no responses and more research I decided to try out a CVA scout pistol in 300 Blackout. I figured it was half the cost of a used Contender and 300 BO is pretty versatile to load and cast bullets for.
Still looking for a Contender but I guess the urgency part of getting a single shot pistol is over.

If you want to add furniture, I have a 16" that can go either way. Not exactly a varmint round, but plenty accurate for one.
