WSM Project

I am starting to get pieces together for a WSM build. I had my mind set on a 7mm, but with Berger making 277VLDs now I'm on the fence. But that's another headache. I am going to use a 700LA because I don't want to deal with all the extra pains of getting VLDs shoehorned into a SA. Plus, I already have a LA sitting around. Now for the dumb question. Are there any factory 700LA bolts with a WSM bolt face? I know the WSMs were designed to fit in a SA, just wanting to make sure. Thanks.

You can have your bolt face opened up, its a pretty easy job especial;y if your having then action blueprinted anyway, but if your wanting the most accuracy out of your rig you'll need the bolt sleeved and then your way better off getting the PT&G bolt, it'l cost less and you can order it with a Sako extractor installed.

Well I just learned something. I assumed that the WSM used the same rim dia as the 300WM family. I just measured them and the WSM is .010" bigger :eek

I have a short action 300WM bolt that I thought would work for a WSM project without modification. Now I know better !

Not sure if this helps...

, this can be ordered from MidwayUSA...

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go the Kiff route. It will probably six months for me to get all the parts and money together. Now I have to decide what caliber. Anyone had any experience with the Berger VLDs in their 270 yet?
