Wow do I feel really stupid!

So Ive had this lrp leupold sitting around for awhile. Its my first ffp/mil rad scope Ive ever tried. I mounted it on my little 17 fireball just because. I head to the range and Imediatly got frustrated that the scope wouldnt even come close to lowering enough. Im talking 18” at 100 yards. Buyers remorse kicked in haha. I look online at a couple reviews and said wait, this is a zero stop! Ughh I had no idea! Now I love this scope! Just thought Id share one of those idiot moments haha we all get them! On a side note, the zero stop works flawless!

burris z rings will take care of that..go + or minus in front do the same in back..18 inches will be a 20moa positive + insert in front with zero in back should get you good may have to go negative in back 10 it will work..I think it will work..put the insert in then squeeze the scope down... look through barrel look through scope till you get the desired effect..then your good to go.. I use them to maximize the scopes full elevation..but you should have a good 500 yd zero with 18'' high...have fun shoot str

I done the same crap before..I just shimmed the front base with measure tape it's rounded and makes a perfect shim..take the front base off.. clamp it to the tape drill holes mount it back 3pcs of measuring tape should get you close,,there is a thread on here that a guy does this and he also gives the tape thickness to moa..so many thou to moa..you got this

zero stop

Good to know ty. https://nightforceoptics.com/zero-stop

After sighting in your rifle, simply set the ZeroStop™, and you create a positive mechanical stopping point at your chosen zero point. Then, no matter how many elevation adjustments you make, turning the elevation knob down to the ZeroStop™ setting returns you to your original zero, completely by feel—even in total darkness or while wearing gloves. No counting clicks, no need for visual reference, no wasted effort.

Thanks for the tip! However Im not sure I wrote it right. The resetable zero stop was just set too high from whoever. Problem was I had no idea it even had a zero stop so I thought the scope was bottomed out lol

I understood right off but the measuring tape is a great idea. Never thought of that. I use empty beer cans.
