would you change it.

I just got my S&W MP 15 Sport 2.I have two other ar-15.One is custom built and the other is a 1980 Bushmaster carbine.I used M16 carriers in both with of them.Love it and they work great.Would you change the carrier in the MP 15 are leave it as is.Thanks for the help.

I prefer the full auto style carriers, but that is just because the cut away ones just don't look right to me after 25 years of having the originals. It really comes down to how your gun is gassed and how consistently your bolt locks up. There is no obvious advantage that I have been able to identify with either one. Maybe someone who has more technical knowledge will chime in.

Well, I'd go shoot it before I changed anything.
If I shot the rifle and it wasn't doing something that I expected it to do ORRRRRRR... it did something that I didn't want, then I'd look to change it up. Otherwise, run it til it breaks.

Like Bully said, go shoot it and find out how she shoots before messing with it. And don't set unrealistic expectations on her accuracy as of she was a custom built AR15. I bought the S&W MP 15 Sporter for my Son-in-law a year ago or so and he's an Army Ranger having served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. HE gets very reasonable groups for what it is using factory ammo. Now it doesn't shoot like my custom competition STTAR15 but then that baby cost me $3500 without glass or the Atlas Bipod. So give that AR a chance to prove herself and break her in and then decide if you need changes. But also don't set unreasonable expectation for a $700 AR.
