Would this barrel be of concern?

Well figured would give an update on this rifle. I was doing searches on Boyd’s stock and found someone selling one for $75 shipped but barrel channel measured .7 and my barrel was .9.
I bought it and recently finished opening up the channel with some sand paper wrapped around 3/4” pex pipe I had.
I had issue with magazine going far enough in to clip in place so that took some tinkering.
I just finished it recently and hoping to take it to the range soon. Going to try some H380 with last charge I did that showed potential (39g) with a 50g vmax.
If this works out I will be happy and probably order a new barrel once this one is shot out
If you've got it or can find any, you owe it to yourself to get some IMR4064. Work up to 36.0ish gr under a 52-55 gr match bullet touching the lands. That's just one of those loads that seems to shoot lights out in just about every 22-250 I can ever remember.

Funny you mention that a friend gave me a pound that he did not end up needing

It doesn't meter well but I think that load will impress with maybe little fine tuning.
The bbl is what it is but it'll probably shoot just fine. Let us know how it goes.

My Savage 22-250 barrel looks like that. ~2005 112 BVSS. It shot under half minute at 500 yards with Sierra 60gr flat base and Hornady 60gr Amax. Was under an inch at 300 yards with 45gr bullets. I shot it, cleaned it, and didn’t worry about it. Still have it, has maybe 500 rounds on it. I pulled it off to shoot a 6mm comp match and then changed bolt head and made it a .223 target gun.
