Worn out barrel

I’d like to chamber my own barrels, I’ve had my lathe for several years and am pretty confident with it, I’ve threaded many barrels with success … now I’m looking at building a custom and thinking of doing my own chambering, which brings me here … if I go down this road I was wondering if anyone has one or a couple shot out barrels to practice on? If it happens I’d obviously pay shipping…

Know any F-Class guys? They usually have a shelf full of burnt out straight 1.25 inch barrels.

Rather than waste time on a shot out pre chambered barrel,
Get a couple of gunsmith special or turned blanks from Green Mountain barrels. They actually shoot pretty good for the low cost.

If you are running an outboard spider make sure you order up a barrel long enough to seat in the front chuck/spider AND the outboard spider.
Don't ask me how I know this.

I’ve made several 16 inch adapters out of aluminum bar. I can chamber a very short barrel in the headstock.
