Wolf .223 ammo

I spend too much time reloading as it is now.

Have any of you guys shot the Wolf .233 that is avaliable in bulk packs from Cabelas?

They have FMJ's and HP's in two grain weights, which do you like?

I have shot that stuff in my savage 10fp, and found it to foul a great deal as well as not being very accurate. Their .22 ammo is a much different story. Great stuff for much cheaper than Lapua or Eley.
On the .223, with a slower twist barrel, mine is a 1:9) perhaps it would shoot better. If you are looking for some ammo to put through an AR or a mini-14 then have at it. Groups? I would put my money towards some black hills. It seems more expensive, but when you realize that you are getting 50 rounds it works out to be much cheaper than remington, or federal 20 round boxes. Winchester white box ammo doesn't do too badly either. Fairly inexpensive stuff, and fairly accurate as well.
What sort of equipment are you running?
Hope this helps.

Chuck,

I don't like Wolf .223 ammo. I, too, have a White Oak upper with 1:8 twist, long barrel and extended gas port; however, my lower is a Colt match target with a Jewell trigger. It shoots well. Using poor ammo just does not seem right with that rig.

I use Wolf for practice with my M4gery. For practicing defensive drills, MOA accuracy is not necessary and Wolf allows volume shooting for least $.

Wolf .223 and Wolf .22 ammo are not made by the same company.

Wolf .223 is made in Russia and Wolf .22 is made in Germany.

I don't know why they both have the same name.

Wolf .223 is crap, a case got stuck in my chamber and was a PIA to get out. After only using half a mag, I sold the rest.

Now the Wolf .22 is a far superior made ammo. Especially Wolf MT grade. This is benchrest shooting ammo.
