Today a friend Don "Stick" Stark passed.
He was Unique in his way.

I truly loved Stick. He was so down to earth and genuine. We had many great heart to heart discussions. I know he was so sad being so sick. I was truly heartbroken to hear he had passed.

Dammit....thanks for posting boss... he was a huge influence on me and a good friend. He will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear this. I met Don back in the mid eighties while drag racing boats. Luckily I didn't have to compete against him as he was doing the jet boat thing and I was into hydro's. Life went on and as fate would have it I ran into him a few years ago when my buddy and I decided to get back into shooting. I bought a Rem 308 PSS which should have been called a POS instead. I took it up to S&S ( I new nothing of them at the time) one day to see if they could do anything with it and there I ran into him again and after all those years he still remembered me. Needless to say my comfort level regarding my rifles chances of becoming a shooter rose greatly. We had a great time reliving our misguided racing adventures and I learned a ton about what it takes to make a rifle shoot. I still have the rifle he built for me and I will never get rid of it. It shoots "lights out" now and I'm sure it will continue to when my lights go out. Thanks for a great job Stick and save a place for me at the line. See ya soon old friend. God Bless you and may you rest in peace.

Stick was the one who shoved me off the bank into the deep water of accurate rifles, and competitive shooting.The stainless steel Stiller Viper and red Robertson stocked gun he built is truly a prized possession.He had that dry sense of humor that would really make you appreciated getting insulted by him.I am really sad to see him go.May his breathing be easy now.
