WIPE-OUT BORE CLEANER

I've used it with great results in the prairie dog fields. When switching rifles, just shoot some down the bore and set it aside. when you are ready to switch back, pull a bore snake through and you are ready to go again. At the end of the day I still go through a brush and patch routine with Butch's or boretech. The only downside I noticed is the foam can get a little out of control if you are not careful!

I like it. However, getting it down the bore of a rifle, especially 22 or smaller without wearing it is a challenge

Good stuff as with their liquids. Easy to do, squirt from the barrel end put your finger over the muzzle after you shoot it in and that forces it to flow into the chamber end. When I see it at the chamber neck via a light I stick a short rod w/rag on it to plug it so it don't flow into the action. Move finger from muzzle end and let sit over night.

Top notch local shooter swears by it. I couldn't fly with my normal chemical cleaning regimen so I had a bottle of the foam shipped to my hotel at Nationals in Phoenix. Worked great. I use a Subway straw (or any that fit) to squirt it in through the chamber and when I see it flow out the muzzle I stop. Sinclair sells chamber plugs with orings. I use them plus an old foam ear plug stuck in the muzzle. I always have multi-hour drives back home and often leave it in overnight (or longer) . Put in while barrel is still hot at end of last string of match. While some say that is all you need, I do more to clean the barrel, but it definitely makes the job ALOT easier.

When I was down shooting in MD, a friend who is a fellow competitor gave me a case each of Patch out, Accelerator, Carb-Out and Wipe-Out Brushless liquid spray. I prefer the regular liquid. I use to use Butch's, but the Patch-Out does a better job of cleaning. Patch-Out doesn't smell bad either. I bought a bottle of Montana Extreme from my gunsmith and smelling that stuff will knock you on your ass. That stuff works, but it is brutal.

Wipe Out has the spray foam version, and the liquid version. On a badly fouled barrel, I use a chamber plug, fill the bore up, let it sit overnight, then clean normally. rarely takes over 10 patches and WORKS great.

It's all I use.

Has anyone used wipeout then run a brush through the barrel and see how black a patch is ? I do that and wash the brush in denatured alcohol. There is a accumulation of crud in the wash jar. Where does that come from ?

I shot HBR for three years, over 2500 rounds, of 308 Win and 150gr SMK's. That's how old I am. On advice of my gunsmith, I never put a bare brush down the barrel. I ran a brush wrapped in a patch sloppy wet with Mercury Quicksilver or GM top engine cleaner, about three laps, deprimed and reprimed my brass, ran another patch, powder charged the cases, seated the bullets, and then ran two dry patches one way thru the barrel. I made the Top Five at every match I shot those three years, and ended up seventh in the TCL.

Just in case you use an AR-15 style rifle for PD's, DO NOT use Wipeout on these. The spray foam will expanded into the gas tube hole in the barrel and would be a bear to clean out (dismantle the entire gas tube system.

Just a squirt of carburetor cleaner down the gas tube from the back will clear it out, no biggie.

I've been using Wipe-Out on my 3 AR's for a while now with no noticeable residue in the gas tube or BCG.

I've tried a handful of different cleaners and Wipe-Out has been the most effective by far. It's cut my cleaning time in half.
