Windage and Bullet Drop.

How can someone mathematically calculate the distance that a bullet will drop or shift due to wind and range, i would like to learn more about this because if someone is shooting at 1000 yards then how much will the bullet shift if there is a 5 mph crosswind.

Thank you all,
Junior

Many good software choices to buy out there too. I'm sure someone will post soon what their favorite is.

Be carefull--long range shooting is addicting.

If you would rather calculate by hand or learn how to, there is a good book called "Modern Practical Ballistics" That will give you all of the info you are looking for. I used to do it myself with the equations in the book, but using the programs above will save you time.
