Winchester Xpert

Just thought i would throw this out there for the fellas that wondered. I’m a fan of the 17wsm cal in rimfire. Problem is there’s not many gun manufacturers that make a reasonably priced rifle. I have savage b mags and a17 semi autos that actually shoot pretty good for a cheap rifle. When Winchester came out with this new Xpert line and included the wsm in with 22 and 17 hmr well it caught my eye. Im a fan of the hmr as well just because its rimfire and easy - i do wish they offered it in hm2 (mach2) caliber. Anyhow i picked up the rifle today and mounted scope and sighted in. I have to say - for a Tupperware stock and a cheap looking all over rifle it shot amazingly well with 20 gr pills. Action was slick and chambered rounds as it should and trigger was surprising ! Stock sucks and what’s worse is there’s will be no aftermarket wood stocks to replace the Tupperware - i asked Boyd’s ! And they said because of magazine release setup they would not attempt making out of wood. All that said - rifle shot dime size 5 shot groups and i didn’t even clean barrel before shooting. For 320 $ rimfire that shoots this well out of box i had to share.

Agreed sir. Trigger on mine isn’t great and the stock is cheaply made and too short for my liking. However, mine also shoots extremely well for what it is. And that little 17 wsm punches well above its weight class. 250 rounds down the tube so far and glad I bought one.
