Winchester Mystery Rifle

I have a Winchester high wall with a 6mm barrel for a rimmed case . The rim is .05 thick for the chamber requiring a .049 Rim thickness on the actual cartridge. The diameter of the rim in the chamber will accept a necked down 7X57R case with a rim diameter of
.529 but action will not close because the rim on the necked down 7x57r cartridge is .062 thick. A 6 mm Remington cartridge fits in the chamber with a little excess headspace but of course won't work because it does not have a rim. Also the body diameter at the base of the 7X57R cartridge is .471 and the Chamber diameter at that point is .47 .
Any ideas?

Could this be a 6 BRM? The Parent case is a .30-30.

Do research on the 30/30 and .225 Winchester 1st since you are dealing with a Winchester rifle!!!
Then work on the Swift and KRAG next!!!

Thanks but none of these have the .049
Thick rim and .530 rim diameter. We're still not there.

The 303 British Military Cartridges has a .530 rim diameter but I don't know what the rim thickness is!! The 303 British Sporter Cartridges have a .540 rim diameter!!!

Does it give the rim thicknesses? I don't have that information.

According to Wikipedia the rim is .064 thick .54 diameter.
pg. 95 Cart of the World:
Current American Rifle Cartridges, Dim data: 303 British, Large Primer, .530 rim dia.!!!! The same as the Military 303!!! The British sporter 303 is .540!!!! But, the base dia.is .458!! Not .47!!!

I think you have the old obsolete 6mm Rimmed Remington with a barrel twisted in too tight!!! I believe your need to get 7x57R cases (Parent Cartridge of the old 6mm Rem), have the rims set back if the head space is correct, verify 6mm bore, and fire form!!! Send in fire formed brass to have dies cut!!! That is, if you want to shoot that old gun!!!!
