Winchester Model 70 20MOA Scope Mounts

Looking to see what is available out there and what other folks are using a recommend.
This will be for a short magnum hunting rifle.

I have been using EGM rail mounts with Warne Maxima rings with superior results, but that combo is not exactly the lowest height option out there, and pretty much requires an adjustable cheek rest for proper head position. I have this set up on 3 or 4 target style guns.

A few years back I put together a Remington 700 long range hunting rig, and had to use a Leupold STD 1-piece base to get the head position correct. That was only a 257Roberts, and I am a little concerned about the heavier recoil of a short magnum and a STD style 1 piece base.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated and considered!
Thank you!

Standard bases, some with only 3 screws, have been around as long as some of thebheavy hitting rounds have been. Don't put a 40oz scope on there first of all, but the old beer can shims work just fine for extra elevation. In fact, a Redfield Jr. 3 screw base lives on my 1917 with two layers of a PBR can stuffed under the rear. Its my main hunting rifle and has been knocked around pretty good in the back of trucks and fallen over off of fence posts. Still holds zero just fine, even with 200+ grain bullets.

I use EGW 20 MOA one piece base with either Vortex Viper, or Warne low rings.
The base from EGW is kinda tall, but with the low rings put the scope right where i want it. Works with my Sightron STAC with 50mm objective.

Egw. Make sure you look at their web site and get the right screw spacing for your short action Winchester. Winchester for some reason has 2 different ones on the short actions. I found out the hard way trying to get a leupold rail.

I have a long action M70 (post-64) configured for F-class. I put a Ken Farrell 20moa base on it, with Warne quick detach rings. You can certainly buy cheaper, but I am very please with both.

I’ve used Farrell mostly for a long time, but did end up with a Nightforce recently. I like them both.
