Winchester Bolt

Wow, first time someone has mentioned a Stealth in years! I have one in .308 and love it.

Would like to hear how your project goes.

Hello Joe,
Mine was one of the first stealth. It was a 22-250 however the barrel has gone South. Was going to cut cost and move to a 223 for matches. Just could not put .260 Remington aside so I took it to the Smiths shop today for a new Pac-Nor .260. So won't need that bolt after finding a source. Bill

My .308 is one of the first Stealths too, best shooting rifle I've ever owned. When this barrel is gone I've been thinking of doing a .260. Let me know how your project works out.

Just worked up a load for my PacNor, and got 10 shots in 0.56". Most of that was vertical, so I'm going to change powder and try again; but PacNor makes great barrels, and 6.5 is really easy to tune and shoot. And I agree about the Winchester Stealth. Outstanding rifles!

I will try to remember that Joe and be glad to do it. The Smith said he was working down a three month backlog. So please help me remember. Bill

Bill, I'll try to remember but can't promise. When mine wears out I'd like to do a .260 but I have a long way to go. I bought this stealth in 2005 with the intention of using it for long range shooting. To date I have put 90 rounds through it, it's almost boring to shoot being so accurate.

What did you do with the 223 bolt that you found?

Thanks Jim! You have eased my concerns that I made a good choice in barrel manufactures and caliber. I'll sleep better tonight
