Found this in an old box of papers and stuff. It has made a lot of moves overs the years based on the date and stayed in decent condition.

Thought the members here would enjoy checking out the prices from a long time ago.

I remember that 22LR ammo was a penny a pop and I still have a brick of Sears Roebuck label 22 ammo from that era. I also remember the Federal minimum wage in 1971 was $1.75 and McDonalds advertised a Big Mac, fries and a shake for 99 cents with no taxes on food items.

Who knew that ten years later, inflation would be running 15% ('79-'81) and wage earners would cease getting yearly cost of living increases....forever!

Cool stuff,I remember that era very well .Thanks for posting. I remember back in the 1960s we could buy a single shotgun shell at the local hardware store . You only had to be about 10 years old and have a dime on you,or younger if Mr. Camp knew your folks. Glory days...

I remember in the mid 80’s when 22LR hit $5.00 a brick and thinking it was ridiculously over priced and how no one would buy it at that price, lol.

Price those items out in old silver coin money. When a "Dime" was real money. Call them dimes a Dollar & twenty-five cents today. 5 X's a $1.25 = $7.50 a box . Does that compare ? Mike in ct

I was born in 1960 so a while back I bought the complete 1960 NRA library.
It’s a lot of fun looking through them thinking about the collection of Garands I would own if I could go back in time.

Got a price tag from a Browning Buckmark that says $49.95. Maybe early to mid 60s? I look at often.;)
I didn't think that there was a Browning Buckmark back in the 60's??

I think that the Ruger 22 Auto pistol, Mark whateveritwas, sold for around 60 bucks back then. I've got cans of powder from that era that have 1.99 or 2.99 tags on them. jd

I started collecting Garands in 1999, and certainly not as cheap as those ads. Adjusted for inflation and current price points, however, I think it was money well spent.

Jack O’Conner’s articles convinced me to buy a brand new Model 70 in 1961. I made payments on it by shoveling snow and doing odd jobs for the neighbors. It took an entire year to pay the $132 to the hardware store. I still own that rifle today.

1975 ??? I want to go back wow what a wonderful place in time it was, I would never complain that there was nothing to do on a week night again I promise..... going hunting before or after school wow fishing on the way the way home NO cell phones !!!! , now I have to check if I am in the right company to even mention hunting, I remember a brick of 22 LR junk stuff getting to 9.99 you would of thought the end of the world came with my little tanti, a few years back same brick 20.00
