Winchester 94 extractor slot wear

Hello,

I have a pre-64 Winchester 94.

I’ve been noticing that the slot in which the extractor fits in ( when bolt is closed) is becoming shiny from what seems wear from the extractor contacting the metal.

Question for other 94 owners, is this common/ a non issue? Or do I need to add a bit more lubricant to that area.

I‘ve attached a picture for reference.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The Win 94 I have was bought in 1949 it shows some shine there, but still shoots and extracts like the day it was bought, so don't worry about it.

Do not lube that spot , too much risk of gravity doing its thing and the lube getting on the cartridge.

Mine had that
Mine would pull and eject like a dream until I used some Federal--it would not grab the edge of the round to extract--Put Other brands in zero issues--it can collect trash in that place--clean it out good
One of the best rifles I ever had--going up every day hang on to it
