wincher mod.52 b

I recently picked up a mod. 52b with a custom stock what a grate gun I shot a 5 shot grope under 1/4 in. at 50 yards then I removed the stock to clean it Big mistake now I,m lucky to keep in side 3/4 at 50 yards I need some help what is the best way to adjust the forearm screws

Does it have "forearm screws" similar to the 52D and Rem 40X that support the barrel out near the tip of the forearm? As far as the "best" way to go about it, I'd slowly and equally tighten after firing a few five shot groups at each incremental torque value.

Tuning with action screws is common in small bore. If you have screws near the tip of the forearm I would start by loosening them all the say (as in not touching the barrel at all). Loosen the two actions screws until they are barely holding the action. Tap the butt on the floor (unloaded and barrel up of course) to set the action a bit. Tighten the front screw to 30 in./Ibs. or about a quarter turn from completely loose. Tighten the rear until the action is just being held down to the stock (5 in./Ibs). Shoot five shot groups from the bench adding 5 in./Ibs. after each group until the groups tighten. Keep going and verify that the groups start opening up again and go back to the best setting.
This obviously works best with a torque wrench. There are several available in the $55 dollar range that will work from Sinclair, Midway or local GS. It also works best with good ammunition. Wolf Match, SK Rifle Match are minimums for me. With my 52C and RWS ammo I am able to tune the groups into .25 moa at 50 yards with a factory barrel.
Have fun with it! Go shoot a match!
