Buddy of mine is stripping down a post=65 Winchester Model 70 Stainless push feed in .270 WSM and much searching has yet to find a value for the action, trigger and bottom metal combo. Told him the barrel isn't worth much and since he's a lefty, he put a laminated left hand thumbhole, right action, stock on it. Will try and peddle that too, although the market for that may be slim.
Any and all estimateds appreciated.

Market rules? Put a price on it and drop it until it sells. Put it up now when everybody’s wallet is a little thin because of Christmas and you probably won’t get many bites. Wait until mid January and you might get $550 out of it. This Covid market is crazy, as we all know. A lot of the old rules got tossed. I’ll be selling some of my collection due to health reasons but I’m waiting until after Christmas.
Of course, that may not work out. If the “guy in the gun shop” is right, we’ll all be in a major recession by February!o_O Depression by April, Civil War by June. There are some crazy ideas floating around “out there”!

If its an action made in the early 70's on its one slick rig. Why is the barrel not worth anything? I have several and they shoot like lasers. Actio, barrel, trigger and bottom metal, I think bobm has it about pegged. FWIW, the barrel will have New Haven, Conn mfg location on it, not Portugal or some other location.

The Model 70 Stainless push feed was introduced in 1992 in four long action cartridges. That was the year I bought mine in .30-06. I had been using a post '64 stamped checkering M70 in .30-06 purchased in 1967. When I bought that stainless rifle I gave my older M70 to my neighbors son who had just turned 16 yrs. That fall he shot his first bull elk with it. Yeah, early spring of 1992 was when I bought the 70 stainless rifle, a new Ford F-150 XLT long bed Super Cab pick up, and a pair of Italian made Vasque Sundowner boots......all which I still have and use today!!

I want your boots! I had a pair of Vasque. Lost them in the late 70’s in a move!

Oooooh.....sorry, hogpatrol. Just realized the bad thread hijack I created. Yikes!

Pictures and a few words to follow on the "What did you shoot today?" thread.
