Wilson Trimmer Clamp

Recently modified my Wilson Trimmer with Sinclair Stand to use a toggle clamp instead of the standard clamping mechanism.

See what you think.

The plate is made from 1/4" by 1" aluminum that I purchased at Lowes.

Drilled and tapped 2 holes for 1/4"-20 bolts.

The risers are 1" stainless steel spacers that have the perfect inside diameter to accept 1/4"-20 bolts. Good tight fit and are the perfect height for the clamp.

Very solid and works great.

What do you think?

No I don't reload on the kitchen counter. My setup is down in the basement but the lighting down there plays havoc with a digital camera.

Good, job well thought out. Looks like it should work ok, why the mod though? did the threaded rod brake on yours as well?

454bore,
Nice job, I swear I have seen this elsewhere on this forum maybe, have you posted it before? Does it push straight down on the case holder or does it have a tendency to pull the holder towards itself?
Nice clean, well thought out, Thanks for sharing ;)
Wayne.

The original clamp for it didn't break. The original clamp worked fine for the low volume that I used to do in terms of trimming. However, since I started practicing for 3 Gun competition my volume has gone up and the clamp is alot faster for changing out the pieces of brass.

The clamp comes straight down on the case holder, so far no evidence that it wants to change the position of the caseholder when engaged.
