dansig said:the seater stem is the same in all 6mm wilson dies, no need to change it, just use the 6br stem
dansig said:that's what I thought to, but the stem isn't made for a specific bullet so the 6mm stem should work just fine on .22 cal bullets, it just sits lower on the bullet but shouldn't have any negative affect on seating.
dansig said:as have been said.. the .223 stem will wiggle in the 6mm die, but the 6mm stem will work fine on your .22 bullets.

Please also remember the poster wants to fine tune the 22BR loads. The thing about the Wilson dies is their tight tolerances is what gives better runout. Since a 6mm BR was not designed to be used as a 22 BR the overall fit will throw off the major advantage in using a Wilson die in the first place.
dansig said:I just put the tip of a Berger 108gr in to the hole of my Wilson 6mm stem and it wiggled, I did the same with a .22 bullet and it wiggled.. just not as much.
the stem is supposed to touch the bullet as little as possible, therefore it will wiggle on all bullets, it just touches a small ring on the bullet, whether it is .05 from the tip or .08 from the tip makes no difference in seating, that's why the same tip works on many kinds of bullets regardless of their shape.
the stem isn't made to push the bullet by the ogive but about half way from the ogive to the top, so the 6mm stem works fine on .22cal bullets, even .22lr led bullets.
