Wilson Hand Dies

Quick question,

Are Wilson arbor press dies hardened? Can I run my BR Improved reamer into my 6MM BR seating die without damaging my new reamer? How about a Wilson Neck Sizing die?

Thanks

Bob

Not a problem at all with your seating die, but a FL sizing die needs more contact than your reamer will give it........ it won't hurt it, but it won't work for sizing your cases....
The neck sizing die won't be a problem either....

I'm not Preacher but I think he is saying a reamer used to cut a chamber will not cut a die to the right size. The die reamer has to be .0015 thou or so smaller in dimensions than the chamber reamer to correctly size a case to the chamber's dimensions, allowing for spring back of the case and all.

The chamber reamer will cut a die body, but once you hit the brass it too hard,over-pressured), you can't FL size the case without a special die reamer and a pc of barrel or die blank. You can still size the fired cases with a die cut with a chamber reamer, but you are only size the fired brass to the chamber size, you are not making the brass smaller so it goes in the chamber without some effort, be it small. Chamber reamers are great for making a NK die, but will not cut a correct FL die. I know, I have a few wildcats with dies made from the chamber reamers.

FL size dies sizes the brass to minimum SAMMI spec or even a hair smaller.
