Wilson 30Br Seater

Ive got a Wilson 30Br seater and was trying to insert some freshly expanded 6Br cases but they wont go all the way in.

Im wondering if its because I havent turned the necks yet and the donut caused by the expanding using a mandrel.

Is my thinking correct?

Thanks

I ran into that problem. Had to send three pieces of fired brass to them. They honed the seater die to fit the brass. It was free of charge when I sent them in.

Resized in a fl die ?
I had mine done by dj. Necks turned also.
I still had to bump shoulders back and size necks.

Most likely the problem is that the case neck is not concentric to the case body anymore. The Wilson seating die is pretty tight so check concentricity by simply rolling the case on a flat surface. If you see the neck precess around the case body axis - this is the problem. Full length sizing with a fairly tight neck bushing and neck expanding with the appropriate sizing mandrel a few cycle should allow you to turn necks and fireform the fist time to mitigate the concentricity issue.

Wilson will modify both your Full Length neck bushing die and seating die to match your fireformed cases (3) for just the shipping charge.

They havent been resized yet. I dont have a sizing die yet. I was wanting to fire 3 cases 3 times to send to Harrels for a die.

Im going to turn and trim a few to see if that helps . I did use a marker on a couple and it kind of looked like it was catching on the donut.

Dont modify anything until you turn, fl size, and fire. Your die will be perfect once your brass is ready

Forming 6br to 30 br--- after necking up and turning will get "sticky" for lack of better terms in my wilson inline seater.Because of the concentricty of the brass, but after blowing them out with good load of 4198 they straighten right out.
