wide bag rider for rear bag

Is anyone using a wide bag rider for the rear bag in F class competition? I was thinking it might make the rifle more stable in the bag, especially when operating the bolt and trying not to upset the gun.

I've been shooting competitively for almost 10 yrs. now and didn't realize how critical a good rear bag is to getting the most out of every shot made. I was schooled by another shooter during an event this year. This gentleman let me borrow his rear bag during a relay to show me the difference in his bag vs. mine. I have picked up a solid 3-5 points with higher X count at all matches both mid and long range using the correct bag. Consistency in all shots has gone up. I have even managed to shoot a 600-42x at a 3x6 match 3 weeks ago.

I use the Pro-tek-tor DR. They will custom make it to your specs. and set the ears for the width at the base of the but stock. Use heavy sand and make it hard-hard. It will run about $160 but worth every penny of it.

That's what I was wondering as I have seen 3" wide bag riders on videos of f class shooting and thought it would make the rifle much more stable .

I have been using one with the slick, silver material from Protektor for a couple of years. When I ordered mine they were calling it the "Henry Pasquet" model because I think Mr. Pasquet may have been the first one to use it. Anyway, it works really well for me, and Shurley Brothers Rifles in Tx is where I get the 3" aluminum spacer that attaches to your stock. I'm sure there are other sources for them that are of equal, high quality
