The match concluded Sunday afternoon at the LaCrosse Rifle Club.
Ryan Pierce shot an amazing weekend total of 1596-111X with a 6mmbr
Fortunatly Ryan is from Iowa
I was the high Wisconsin resident at 1589-90X (6br)(shot my new 284 for match 3,4 on Sat.)
Bob Seabold was 2nd with a 1586-100X (284)
It turned out to be a quite exciting match on sunday.
After saturdays scores, Jeff Dick (260 rem) was high resident with me following close behind.
Bob had a squib load on his first relay on Saturday putting him down 10 points at the get go, but finished the day only dropping 3 more points.
I on the other hand had dropped 10 points, knowing how good of a shooter Bob is I figured he would shoot very clean on Sunday and I would be fending off a charge.
Bob was first Relay and Jeff and I were 4th. I don't know if this was an advantage knowing what the other guy was shooting ahead of you, but Bob put the pressure on shooting 200's during the first 3 matches. I knew I would have to shoot my best ever.
I came out of the pitts to find Bob cleaned the first 2 matches. So what do I do?
I coughed up a 9 on my very first shot for record. :-\
What I learned there was helpful, my 6br walked low right for the 1st 3-4 shots, and really settles in after 8-10. I used that knowledge (thanks Marlyn) to stay on target and finish the Day with a 799- 56X. Bob Had finished the day with the hopes for an 800 but dropped one in the last match to finish at 799-55X. Ryan finished Sunday with 799-52X, Jeff struggled and ended with a 783-32X.
Three 200-16X were fired during Sunday, one each by Ryan, Bob and Myself.
It was a great weekend for shooting and I think everyone had a great time.
