Why do I still want a maxi=tracker

missed a nice one in the last couple of weeks, rats.

they are really heavy for this old man, I would only shoot it a few times at home and maybe not even at a match. Just got built a really nice 17 pound light gun borden, deep creek stock and so on. Building a second gun on a Bat lug melonite as a backup light as well. I have wanted a all metal stock for a few years. I was told (incorrectly) a few years back you will never get one as there are not many out there and you will not like it anyway.

Missed out on one 10 months ago and again just past.

They are heavy, maybe hard to carry around, only fit in my new MAX rest, maybe not shoot much better than either of my light guns,

yet I still want one. Nervous about posting a want ad as I do not want to offend a dozen guys who think on the ad and send me a pic of a beat up stock or have to take the whole gun and rest set up as well.

Think there will be many maxi-trackers up for sale before next spring or summer? do they come up for sale at the USA 1000 nationals often? as I have seen a couple of ugly ones and some nice ones and yet still yearn for one,

if I had one I may use it for a year then sell it to get it out of my system as I wish to be competitive and not just another pretty face.

Had thought of calling some of the guys at a couple of 1000 yard ranges and see if they know of any for sale but do not want to offend them if they spend some time to get another member to call me and send pictures and then I say no thanks, do not want to burn any bridges this late in life.

beginning to get a little tired of checking the want ads daily for months with no success and then miss the stock of my dreams this winter if I miss a few days looking through the ads,

any thoughts, it may be a long winter

I talked to Bill Shehane a year or so ago and he said he could build me one in a couple months. Still shows them available on his web site.

I purchased a Deep Creek Tracker from Alex Wheeler instead and am glad I did. It's lighter and tracks like a rail gun.

I am even trying to put out some feelers on the carbon fibre stock made by scoville as it is much lighter and maybe easier to sell in Canada, anyway thanks Jeff

I think Shehane still makes them out of laminate with the rails still but I might be wrong. They are very fun to shoot but suck to pack around.
