Depends on size. For 6mm’s Barts are second to none. Now if I can just convince him to make a 7mm 180gr to rival the Berger 180gr Hybrids.Just curious about this , say a bunch of guys where looking for a custom size and type of bullet , who would be a good person to talk to ?
Right. That's what it used to be though. But yes, times they are a changing. I will say this, 10,000 is enough if all they have to do is make a specific weight change and nothing else. It's just a small run.when the berger column bullet was made it came about from a request for 100 grand bullets,
‘Berger at the super shoot said they would not do it but maybe work together to produce a new 68 grain bullet for short range BR, I made the introduction to get this meeting happen and the rest is history
dont think things would have changed, 10 thousand bullets is really nothing to,speak of
Not 100% sure yet but as I've gotten into playing with this .17-.556 there seems to be a lot of varmit guys talking about how much they miss having a good 25-30 GR .17 cal HP bullet. Most which where custom deals . Texas golds reeds and some others Dont think it would be a massive market or anything but I dont think it would be hard for someone to move them if they made them especially if you could get a bunch of guys to come together and explain what they would like I Mena yeah you have Berger but there about it when it comes to a heavy HP .17 cal. Other wise your just hunting around for old stock or trying to find someone with a stock pile and some extraIt would possibly help if you said what you're looking for. Someone may know of a maker that has the dies to make them or maybe have the bullets. I'm not sure if they still will or not but Berger use to offer just about anything if you bought 10,000 at a time..fwiw. If it's really something obscure, you may have to get dies made and make them but there's a lot of stuff out there if we knew what you're looking for.
Berger might do that. I'd call them. You might have better luck with finding customs over at Saubier forums. I think small caliber is the forte over there. At least now, someone on here might see your post and be able to help. Not 100% sure yet but as I've gotten into playing with this .17-.556 there seems to be a lot of varmit guys talking about how much they miss having a good 25-30 GR .17 cal HP bullet.
