I have a Green Mtn on one and it doesn't shoot that well and I just got a slightly used Adams & Bennett that shoots very well , even shoots CCI stingers into one hole @50 yds. I guess you would get a good one for sure spending more money on like a Shilen, or Volquartsen....but since I recently got a KIDD , I would say cant go wrong with KIDD !
I purchased a pre-built 10/22 that has a 20" green Mountain on it andoesn't like any gun once I found which bulletshould it likes it shoots very well at 50 yards. I really haven't shot it much other than 50 yards though . I haven't shot any expensive matched ammo yet but it shot 36gr. Federal value pack the best. I didn't measure the group but I'd say 10 shots under 1/2" minus a flyer that I blame on myself for rushing.
Mc Gowen was the only barrel maker that would make what I wanted. Back then they were cheap , order time was 16 weeks, and my barrel has shot very well. I just wish I would have gotten it threaded for a brake. I get just enough recoil to blur the target.
Love me some Green Mountain barrels have 5 of them and all of them are tack drivers. So accurate you may get bored shooting through the same hole all day.
I have a SS fluted GM on my 10/22 and it shoots fantastic with Green Tag. I went through 'a lot' of different ammo before settling on this. Am now in the process to see if the CCI SV shoots as good. Lots cheaper................
