Who makes lightweight sub MOA AR-10?

Interesting idea. Who makes the best AR's chambered in 6.5 Grendel. I see Alexander Arms, Precision Rifles, etc. I'm not familiar with any names though.

To be honest there isn't really a lightweight large frame AR. The best possible option would be a light weight 20-22" barrel 6.5 CM or 6XC. Even a light one would probably turn out at 10.5-11 lbs with optics however.
If you forego true 1000 yd capability, an AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel or one of its 6 mm variants (6 mm AR, 6 Fat Rat, etc) would much lighter, handier, and with lower recoil.

Les Baer. He calls it a 264 LBC. It's the exact same thing, just a different name.
However, since you should already own an AR and you're short on coin, buying a barrel is a less costly route to take for now. I'd recommend the Les Baer barrel and some new, modern day mags.
Why would he have to forgo 1000 yards with a Grendel ?

Agreed. I'd recommend Alexander Arms. They did share in the development. If you want 1000y and a small frame, time to contact Robert Whitely with 6mmAR. It's Grendel necked down. I'm sure I'll be flamed for this, however, here goes. My 22lr will go 1.5 miles, but accurately? My Grendel will go 1000y, but within 1MOA? I'd prefer a better balance of high BC and velocity, which I think you get from 6mmAR. I love my Grendel, and I feel it's best for sub 800y, specifically with 123gr bullets, but I'm also biased, I've a 6.5 creedmoor AR for 1000y, or a 6.5x55 swede for long seated bolt action fun. That said, wind is really the issue, I think the Grendel is still supersonic at 1k.
Cost? I'm using formed 7.62x39 brass for plinking use, or Lapua for matches, can't argue there. 85-100gr bullets aren't too pricey, but it isn't a 223 with low cost bullets. I never did bother with sub 130gr in my creedmoor, so the Grendel fits in nicely there.
AR-15 build will need a barrel/bolt, and get a rebuild kit and an extra Grendel extractor to cya; and magazines are diff too (follower). I just built mine in a spare upper and caliber changes are fast and easy; magazine swap and two pins.
Hunting: I'd take a 6.5 Grendel after whitetail before the 6mmAR, both would be for under 200y use, and a good partition will perform well in both. Just my opinions there.

My 22" Bartlien side charge 6AR weighs right at 10lbs in race trim - thats with a 10x50x60 Sightron. Could be a little lighter with some different parts installed. HG could be carbon fiber and the scope mount could be lighter.

Bolt carrier is heavy, bolt is heavy, barrel extension is heavy, and no flimsy namby-pamby barrel is gonna deliver precision.
Gonna also need a decent float tube; one with a steel barrel bolt and lockring. Aluminum float tube not light like plastic... Then you got your scope... Shooting 1000yds? Sure, with a .308.... Better to choose a .260rem or 7mm-08.
Want a light 1000yd rifle? Need to look at the Grendel or maybe a 6mm AR. No such thing as a lightweight precision AR-10. Twelve pounds to thirteen is pretty good w/scope with wide variable range. Nightforce is gonna weigh up to 3lbs w/o rings. Leupold mk IV is about 25oz. Optimize your weapon for weight and you get into compromises.
I would go Grendel with a Satern or other precision upper, but look at Robert Whitley's site 6mmar.com and see John Holliger White Oak Precision for his precision builds. Buy both of Glen Zeddikers AR building books to learn what is doable...

I did stumble across Robert Whitneys 6 mm AR site the other day, read with great interest, and I sent him an email. The 6 mm AR and 6 mm Hagar were new ones to me.

Sounds like I could add a barrel or upper, bolt, new mags, and have a 6 mm AR, Grendel, or 6 mm Hagar. If so, this may be a worthwhile test. I have an AR Gold and Krieger in one of my AR's. Interested to see what would be involved.
I also heard that Proof Barrels are making carbon fiber barrels for my Ruger Precision 6.5 creedmore so that's a possible way to drop some weight on my current competition rig, which is about 16 lbs as is with Vortex Razor and bipod.
I still like the idea of a lightweight AR style though. Guess it all comes down to compromises. PRS matches will go out to 1000 yards, but most local steel matches, DMR, and most PRS stages for that matter will focus on 300-800 yards. So performance at 1000 yards is not highest priority.
Maybe a 6 mm AR variant, or Grendel, is just what the doctor ordered. Literally. It was my neurologist that suggested a lighter rifle.
