Loading for nigh on 60 years. Or so... Subject: 22 Hornet. I decided to start shooting my Hornet after more than a few years of letting it sit in the safe. So, I decide to load some ammo. First issue: Nosler brass. Internet says lotsa people having this problem with Nosler brass. Primers are extremely hard seating. Using SRP's. Finally got er dun. loaded 50 rds. Today I decide to load some more. This time I have some Hornaday brass. I start seating primers. Same issue. Hmmm. I have a dimension chart on the wall for rifle primers. For some reason I look up pistol primers. Seems the chart I find says pistol primers are a tad smaller diameter wise than SRP's. at least all except Fed 205's and Winchester.. I get out my pistol primers and voila. success. Who knew. I have read for years that guys were recommending Pistol Primers. Know I know and so do you. Or maybe you already knew.

Zilla, by chance did you try Rem 6-1/2 primers? That primer was originally designed and intended for the Hornet. I've been using them exclusively in all my Hornets and KH's for decades with various brands of brass and have never had that problem using them.
