Who is your most trusted source for BC Data?

Who is your most trusted source for BC Data?

On the eve of the Presidential election, and with so many polls out there, we are doing a bit of information gathering of our own. We would like to know who your most trusted source of Ballistic Data is. This includes not only BC data, but also articles and information.

Answer Poll Here!

The poll kinda assumes minimal variations rifle to rifle and lot to lot.

I trust results based on LabRadar measurements for the rifle and lot of bullets actually in use.

The BC information out there is either bogus or very bias. It's a rigged system controlled by the %1 of long-range shooters, conspiring with mainstream media. Sorry couldn't resist on a day like today. Never mind!:)

The link was to a face book page. I don't do face book.

I get my B.C. data from Google. I enter the bullet type followed by B.C. and whatever pops up on the screen is good enough for my ballistics app. I use the app dope, after I enter the B.C., to go from my 100 yard testing zero to a 600 yard F-class competition zero. Accurate or not, the published B.C. is always good enough to get on paper and I make a couple of turret clicks from there.

I don't make my living as a sniper nor do I kill God's little furry creatures. I only punch holes in paper but I always get a few sighters, so B.C. isn't all that important to me.

Don't do Facebook but here is my answer. Trust Bryan Litz data!!

I bought Applied Ballistics from B Litz and read it cover to cover. I'm not as savy in higher math as some/many and logged the data from my Magneto Speed into the data program provided with the book. The predicted drops for my 6br, 308, and 6.5x55AI have been within + - 1/2 minute out to 500m. I realize there are many other programs available but intend to use this program to help compare different bullets and loads along with the data from actual targets at distance.

Let's see, altitude, temperature, moisture content, and pressure all change the apparent ballistic coefficient of the bullet. At very long range the earth's rotation can make a difference whether you are shooting East or West under the same conditions. The BC will seem to be higher if shooting West and lower shooting East. The only time accurate BC is even a thought in my shooting is when I plug it in to software to predict a change in impact point. It really doesn't matter because I shoot at the new range to be sure where it actually hits.
