Who is the go to gunsmith for the Remington XP 100 Pistol ?

First one that comes to mind is "Preacher" here on the site. Good man to know, does "SUPER" good work, easy to deal with and has few XPs of his own that he has built and they are look pretty good. 8)
He has done some before and is doing more barrel mods for me now. ;D Couldn't find a better friend to deal with. ;)

After getting a PM from you I looked at your profile and saw you are in VA . There's a guy in Scottsville VA that has built some decent bench guns and I happen to have two of his XP-100 silhouette pistols for sale in our shop now . I never did really care for the guy but he has built some decent stuff .

The fellow that owns the shop that I operate out of has the ability to build one I believe as does a fellow in Madison VA named Steve Hawkin's .

So there are 3 prospects in your home state . Also there's a guy in Culpeper VA thats building bench guns so i suspect he might be able to build you and XP as well . Think his name is Jeff Walker .

At one time there were several of the top "SILLYWET" shooters in the country were from the Culpeper area. Josie and Bob Engle ( Believe the spelling) and Boyd Carpenter I am sure that Clay Spencer did their work.
Depending on what part of Va you are from there are several, John Brown, Wayne Cambell both are HOF shooters. Wayne is near Clay and John is in the Harrisonburg area.

Boyd and the Engles used to be mebers of the club I've belonged to since the mid 80's . Piedmont Sportsmans Club in Gordonsville VA . Boyd I think actually is still a member . But the Engle's migrated to Harrisonburg VA and gave up IHMSA about the time they moved I believe . We also had several other top notch IHMSA people from that time period , Sonny McGhee who is no longer with us , Jay Moscoe and Bill Sanford .

The two XP's I have for sale at the moment Spencer smithed for Boyd and he sold them to another Piedmont shooter . The same guy that I'm selling the XP's for brought a really nice MOA in 7 BR and a Merril 2 barrel in 22LR and 7mm Rocket .

That MOA appeals to my lever action intrest for some reason ;)

OBTW , it was told to me the other day that Spencer is no longer doing any work because of health issues .

I got this thru word of mouth monday at the shop . Whether it's actual or not I am not certain .

I'll tip my hat for Steve Roe as well. Great work. Also, I have had two XP pistols built by a smith in Maryland by the name of Eddie Harren. One is a rear grip bench pistol chambered in 22 BR; the other is a center grip laminated stocked 250 Savage Improved. He does great work as well and is easy to work with.

I was at a match a couple weeks ago with Clay, he never mentioned he's not doing work anymore....
