Who has used 4 groove bbl? ie. Bartlein

Anyone used a 4 groove Bartlein by chance? Reminds me of the '96 mausers in 6.5x55.

Pros/Cons, like to hear owners chime in if possible. Since some shooters like a 3 over a 5 or 6, is there a reason to use a 4 over a 5?

I know I am splitting hairs likely but.......thanks for any input.

I'm getting to the point that I dont believe it matters as to the number of grooves as long as the barrel is made correctly... Have a couple pacnor 3 grooves that shoot really well, a Brux 7 groove, a Benchmark 6 groove,a Krieger 4, a Rock 5R........ all great shooters. That being said I usually order 3's and /or 6's out of habit.

My new four groove 30BR Bartlien barrel shoots very well. On Monday I punched 5 holes into 1 1/4th" at 500 meters. I agree with Spook, it doesn't matter if the barrel is well made.

Regarding canted lands.....pros please....differences in cleaning, accuracy, or velocity to any substantial degree that anyone has noted?

So it's personal choice/perception as much as marketing it seems. It must be that good barrels shoot so close, variations in grooves are independent of accuracy in the real world and top potential can be had in 3,4,5, or 6. I've had 3's and 5's in custom, both done well, so perhaps its time for a 4 just because. Thanks, just want to not have regrets after the build...

Thanks to all as I have only had 5 barrels under my belt.

Ive read a few threads about users with canted lands who cannot get high velocities because the pressure is decreased. Made me rule a a canted land barrel.

Interesting, I would think if it's a 'pressure related' thing, one could 'up the load' to compensate? Just begs my logic....someone might can help.
